Repair Shantui Bulldozer-Failure of fuel supply systems
The bulldozer needs to be moved out of the hangar for seasonal maintenance, but it cannot operate. The fuel tank contains enough fuel. Activating the switch at the bottom of the fuel tank starts the system, but it deactivates automatically after one minute. Connecting the filter inlet pipe to the PT pump’s fuel pipe and tightening the manual screw of the oil cut solenoid valve to the open position do not resolve the issue.
Turning the fuel tank switch 3 to 5 times during re-filter installation releases a small amount of fuel from the filter inlet pipe, but the leakage stops shortly after. Repeated tests and thorough examination confirmed that the fuel tank switch remained inactive.
This switch features a spherical design, which connects the oil circuit when turned 90° and disconnects it when turned another 90°. The ball valve switch lacks a handle and limit device, leaving the square iron head exposed. The operator mistakenly treated the ball valve switch as a throttle switch. After turning it 3 to 5 times, the ball valve returned to the closed position. Although a small amount of fuel entered the fuel circuit during the ball valve’s rotation, it only allowed the machine to operate for one minute. The bulldozer shut down after depleting the fuel in the pipeline.
